Collage Paper Art: A Fun Papercut Art

The art of collage in a papercut craft

The art of collage papercutting is creation of a three dimensional work of art, by layering different colored shapes to form a beautiful image. Collage kits are a creative way of learning the art of collage without the intricate cutting details of papercutting. The collage kits consist of multiple colored papers with shapes - tiny and large, simple and complex.

Collage art projects are an easy and fun scissor craft project

They are a great alternative if you want to make a papercut but do not want to use a craft knife. Although learning how to make collage art can seem complex at first, the collage art techniques taught by Jewish Craft Cuts will show you how to easily transform your collage kits into beautiful art collages.

Complex Collage Paper Art Mapped out Simply

Learning to make collage art is simpler than both papercuts and scissor cuts. Each of the collage kits has very clear step by step directions which are easy to follow. Each shape in these easy collages is numbered and outlined. Shapes that will have other shapes to be glued over them are printed with dashed lines, showing you where to layer and attach the next level. You build up many layers to create your final collage art.

Created by our Artist

Goldie Silberberg, our resident papercut artist and founder of Jewish Craft Cuts, has been designing and cutting papercut art for more than two decades.

"I learned the art of papercutting early in my design career - in the primitive days of graphic design - in those pre-computer days where we cut every letter and graphic with craft knife. Over the years my love of pastel drawing and watercolor painting merged with my cutting, and became my signature papercut art with pastels and watercolors behind them."

After many years of selling her paper cut art, she took on the fun, new challenge of teaching others to learn a craft and papercut just like her.

"Teaching put the art of papercutting put the craft into a whole new light for me. I needed to design images that met different levels of ability but yet would also look beautiful and intricate to the viewer."
